<About Sumie>

Sumie or Suibokuga means ink paintings with Japanese SUMI.

The gradation of SUMI ink paintings is very beautiful.

The Japanese see endless possibilities in the beautiful black and grey tones produced by SUMI ink.

SUMI is made from the soot obtained by burning vegetable oils, such as rapeseed oils.

Glue and an aromatic substance are added to the soot, and mixture is kneaded until the soot is uniformly distributed.

The kneaded mixture is then dried for a year, the SUMI is ready for use.

To use it, you need to dissolve it in water.
